Maia Leah Dual-Stimulating Vibrator: Review

When I received Maia Toy’s Leah Dual-Stimulating Vibrator for review, I was a bit nervous about what to expect. I’m always hesitant to recommend dual-stimulating vibrators (aka rabbit vibrator) or buy them for myself. They’re so highly dependent on the individual user’s anatomy that there’s no one dual-stimulator that works for everyone. A rabbit vibrator that works perfectly for my body may not fit yours at all. You’ll notice that in my “Choosing Your First Sex Toy” guide, I only recommend one rabbit vibe, We-Vibe’s Nova. Nova’s flexible clitoral arm makes it work for most people. Fortunately, Maia’s Leah is also quite flexible, making it a safer bet for someone looking for a dual-stimulator. It’s also great for shoppers on a budget at just $59.99 retail.

Overview

Clad in shocking neon pink silicone, Maia’s Leah Vibrator makes a statement- through a bullhorn. Its bright color is a bit of a twist on the traditional pink vibrator. Unfortunately for haters of the color pink though, there are no other color options for Leah. Personally, neon pink pleases my eye, so I’ve lucked out. It also matches my neon pink summer handbag, and that warms my little femme heart. On the base, Leah features a chrome-look plastic accent that would look chic if not for the electronics recycling symbols stamped into it. It’s an unfortunate choice that cheapens the appearance of the product somewhat.

Maia Leah’s clitoral arm features a split node and a smaller one underneath. Together, they hug the clitoris, providing more stimulation than the average rabbit vibrator. The insertable portion is a smallish shaft with a bulbous head and a subtle coronal ridge. It has a graceful curve for g-spot stimulation and the shaft itself is quite flexible.

The vibrator has ten vibration settings. Of those, three are steady vibrations and seven are patterns. Many dual-stimulating vibrators allow you to operate the clitoral arm and the insertable portion independently of one another. Unfortunately, Leah does not allow the user to control them separately. That’s a trade-off that comes with buying a more affordable toy. You’re not getting the customization of a luxury toy, but you’re not paying luxury prices with Maia Toy’s Leah either.

In Use

Before I got down to business, I ripped open Leah’s packaging and cycled through the vibration setting and patterns. I was immediately impressed by Leah’s clitoral arm, the vibrating nodes of the clitoral arm flutter when engaged more than other rabbit vibrators I’ve tried. The clitoral nodes of also soft and flexible. That’s important because one of my pet peeves with dual-stimulators is that their clitoral arms tend to poke my vulva uncomfortably, negating any pleasurable feelings from the vibration. In contrast, Leah’s more flexible design is all pleasure and no pain.

I was even more taken with Leah’s insertable arm. Its g-spotting curve and somewhat bulbous head feel perfectly tailored to my body. With a maximum diameter of 1.5 inches, it’s filling without feeling like a challenge. When inserted, it pushes against my g-spot perfectly. I had to resist the urge to thrust it in order for the clitoral arm to maintain contact with my vulva. In the end, I stopped worrying about the clitoral arm and I furiously thrusted Leah instead. If Maia ever made a g-spot vibrator version of Leah, sans clitoral arm, it would instantly become my favorite g-spot vib. It’s just so good.

Just as important as Leah’s design are its vibration settings. Overall, I found Leah’s vibrations to be neither particularly rumbly nor buzzy. It occupies the space in between: it’s not going to numb you with buzzy vibrations but it’s also not going send shockwaves through your body with rumbly vibrations. And you know what? That’s fine; Leah’s vibrations are likely to please most people because they’re so balanced. In terms of intensity, Leah’s three steady vibration settings are adequately strong. As a bit of a power queen, I do wish there was one more higher-intensity setting, though. Leah has enough power to get me to orgasm but a slightly more powerful motor would have made that orgasm earth-shatteringly intense. Like many sex toy reviewers, I don’t care for vibration patterns but if you do, Maia’s Leah has got seven of them for you.

For now, Leah occupies a coveted space beside my bed because of its amazing g-spotting skills even if its vibrations didn’t totally blow me away. Overall, I’m impressed with Leah, especially as an affordable option.

Final Thoughts

With the introduction of Leah, Maia Toys has made a fabulous dual-stimulator that won’t break the bank for most shoppers. Its flexible shaft makes it more accommodating of individual anatomical differences than many other dual-stimulating vibrators so I’d recommend it for those in the market for one.

Leah retails for $59.99 but you can snag it at Peepshow Toys for just $54.00 when you sign up for emails.
